Self Regulated Learning (SRL)Hello, my name is Constance Martel Broussard and I am a doctoral student at Grambling State University. I would like to thank your professor for allowing me into your class. I am conducting research on the impact of self regulated strategies on the academic performance of students enrolled in freshman mathematics. I will be using the Motivated Strategies For Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) to examine the study strategies of all students enrolled in developmental and nondevelopmental freshman Math. The attached questionnaire asks about your study habits, learning skills, and motivation to work in this course.
Please respond to the questions as accurately as possible, reflecting your own attitudes and behaviors in this course. All of the information obtained about you will be kept confidential. The information collected today will be combined will information collected from all students enrolled in freshman Math. In addition to completing the MSLQ, I would like to collect information from your college transcript and entrance test scores. If you participate, you will receive feedback on your learning skills and motivation that may be useful to you in your college career within a month.
All of your responses are strictly confidential and I will be the only one reviewing the results. Completing and sending the form indicate that you agree to participate in this study. Thank you for your cooperation.
The Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire was developed by Paul Pintrich et al at theNational Center for Research in Postsecondary Teaching and Learning. Ann Arbor:University of Michigan, 1991.
