A limited number of stipend cum fee waivers are awarded by the EECE department to graduate students in the Telecom Master’s Program starting their second semester on campus. These awards are based on their performance in the first semester at UL Lafayette. Van der Ziel Research Fellowship is targeted to attract exceptionally bright students to the Graduate Program by bridging the above gap. The award is given for the first incoming semester and is based on the student’s performance at the undergraduate level. It is expected that their stellar performance in the first semester will guarantee support from the department for subsequent semesters. As an awardee of the fellowship, the student will be expected to work on research in the general area of Telecommuncations.

    To be considered for this fellowship, please follow the standard procedure of application for acceptance in the Telecommunications Program and send an email to Professor Jindal. 

    Criteria for selection include undergraduate grade point average better than 3.8 out of 4, excellent letters of recommendation, personal statement, samples of academic work and GRE scores.
