Position Title:

Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate
Effective Date: September 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008
(May be extended, contingent upon funding availability)
Salary: $44,000 annually
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
or closely related field with expertise in dynamic system modeling, system theory,
estimation theory, probability and statistics, and computer simulation.
Duties: Develop adaptive models of hurricane systems, using new techniques from the
field of system theory and existing models from literature. Test validity of the newly
developed models with data collected from previous storms and hurricanes. Work with graduate
assistant to develop/implement immersive visualization at Louisiana Immersive Technology Enterprise (LITE3d) Center at Lafayette, Louisiana. Visualization coding/programming experience not necessary.
