Thank you for your interest in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (EECE) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The departmental curriculum is designed to prepare students for a career in the broad field of electrical engineering. The electrical engineering program builds from a strong foundation of mathematics, physics, and the engineering sciences into a solid core of electrical engineering subjects that include digital logic, circuits, computers, communications, electronics and electromagnetics.

Graduates of the Electrical Engineering program are well prepared for immediate industrial employment or, if they so choose, to advance their studies in graduate school. The Electrical Engineering program offers concentrations in Computer Engineering and in Telecommunications, in addition to general electrical engineering, all leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In addition the department collaborates with the Center for Advanced Computer Studies (CACS) in the Computer Engineering M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The department offers undergraduate scholarships with stipends ranging from $250 to $1000 per year. Graduate assistantships consisting of tuition waivers and additional stipends (currently $7500 per year) are also available. Industry supports an active summer internship program that provides the students with summer employment and industry experience.
