MISSION STATEMENT

The EECE Faculty strive to educate our students in the principles and practice of electrical and computer engineering and to instill professionalism, ethics, and teamwork.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The Program Educational Objectives of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering have been established by the Department faculty. The process is iterative and dynamic, with input from faculty members, students via exit interview information, and industry via InTAC. The objectives are:

  • Core Technical Competencies: Provide our students with the core technical competencies in Electrical and Computer Engineering, in a manner that incorporates the diversity of our profession and affords the flexibility to pursue different specialization areas and advanced degrees.

  • Effective Team-work: Provide the Electrical and Computer Engineering graduates with the opportunity to function as effective team members in a diverse engineering environment.

  • Impact of Technology: Provide our graduates with the broad education necessary to understand the impact of technology in a global and societal context.

  • Practical Experiences and Life-long Learning: Provide our graduates with practical experiences to facilitate their development as educated professionals in a global and diverse workplace. Through these experiences, our students are exposed to the need for and desirability of life-long learning.

The objectives are consistent with the mission of the EECE Department, the College of Engineering and that of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
