Michel is a member of the CAPE, Cajun Advanced Picosatellite Experiment. CAPE is a nonprofit and student run organization which develops and builds picosatellites along with a host of other aerospace and mission related systems such as weather balloons and sensor buoys. Our facilities are provided by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has named more than 200 first-time freshmen as President’s Top Scholars.

UL Lafayette designates incoming freshmen who were high school valedictorians and/or scored a 32 or higher on the ACT as Top Scholars each fall semester. A total of 207 earned the honor this year.

The Fall 2023 freshman class is the second largest since the University instituted selective admissions in 2005. It includes 102 high school valedictorians, and 125 entering freshmen have an ACT composite score of 32 or higher. 

The University recognized its Top Scholars on Nov. 2 with a reception at the President’s House. Honorees received a medal and certificate.
