An Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) graduate student, Fupei Guo, supervised by Dr. Songyang Zhang, has been selected to receive an IEEE Globecom 2025 Travel Grant, recognizing promising researchers in the field of communications and networking.

IEEE Globecom 2025, a flagship conference of the IEEE Communications Society, was held in Taipei, Taiwan, in December 2025, bringing together leading researchers and practitioners from around the world. Dr. Zhang’s research group had four papers accepted to the conference, highlighting the group’s strong contributions to cutting-edge communication technologies. Among these works, the paper titled “Multi-Worker Selection based Distributed Swarm Learning for Edge IoT with Non-i.i.d. Data,” a collaboration with Georgia State University, was honored with the Best Paper Award

These achievements mark a significant milestone for Dr. Zhang’s group and reflect their growing influence in the global communications research community. Congratulations to Dr. Zhang, Fupei and the entire team on their accomplishments.
